The perfect medium warm brown stoneware, Kodiak, is our recommended dark clay for functional ware. 
As a smooth highly plastic mid-range clay, Kodiak achieves excellent wheel work properties without the traditional bloating issues most iron rich clays struggle with. Kodiak fires to a warm mocha cream color and is suitable for a wide range of glazes, both commercial and mixed recipes. However, it looks just as lovely with a standard clear letting the clay color shine through!
